I'm the moderator, just call me Three of Four. Ok, you can call me Stephanie if you prefer, but Three of Four just seems more appropriate at times. Maybe I've already been assimilated and just haven't noticed.

I'm spending a lot of time right now deciding on categories and adding bits of information. I've made it so that registered users can submit information for approval as well, so share your thoughts, and if you want a category I haven't thought of, just say so! Right now I have spaces for science fiction and fantasy book, movie and TV reviews, a few news feeds you might enjoy, and a review of one of my favorite stores.

A little about me:

I've been nuts for science fiction ever since about the fourth grade when my oldest sister got me to read The Star Beast by Robert Heinlein.

Now I'm in my 30s and have two kids, which can really cut down on my free time to indulge my interest in science fiction, but it hasn't gone away by a long shot. I have bookshelves all over the house. I miss the days when I could easily go to opening night for films such as the recent Star Wars movies, since seeing them with the right crowd adds so much to the experience. Wouldn't trade my kids, but since they're 3 years old and 1 year old I can't exactly haul them to that kind of movie. Not fair to the rest of the audience. Just wait until they're old enough that I can get them hooked too!

My husband is a fellow science fiction fan, which is unusual in his family (versus being almost genetic in mine!). This is certainly an advantage when it comes to understanding why one of us watches a particular show, buys a lot of books or wants to see a certain movie. Our tastes don't exactly mesh, but they're close enough.

Well, that's enough about me.

I have a lot of ideas for this site that I hope to implement over time. I don't intend to start a fan fiction section, although I had considered it, but I have thought of putting up a section for writers to ask people to review their work. Not having writers post their work on the site; that would make it pretty near unpublishable, but finding a way for writers to post a synopsis and be contacted by people who would like to read and review could be interesting.
