Skeeve has been invited to apply to be the Court Magician of the kingdom of Possiltum. Now, everyone knows that this is a real cushy job, right?

Not this time. They've been hired to fight off the largest army the world has ever seen. No help from the military, though; professional jealousy, and if they should actually survive, they plan on killing him to protect their jobs. A lovely situation to be in.

The humor keeps up nicely in this one, with a variety of new characters who are just unlikely enough to win a war.
